News:
In the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court case of
Sheehan v.
Roche Brothers Supermarket, the court abandoned a rule that
made it harder for plaintiffs to establish negligence. No longer
do you have to prove that an object or hazard was on the ground long
enough for a company to become aware of it before you can make a claim
against them. This is good news for people injured in these
situations, and more lawsuits will go forward because of it. |
If you've been hurt in a fall on someone else's property, place of business,
or other location, you will almost certainly need your own lawyer to help you prove your
case. Injuries from slips, falls, and trips can often be complicated since you must
identify to what degree a property owner may be negligent. And you can be
sure that the defendant's insurance company will fight your claim.
Please take my advice on
the steps you should take immediately to take
care of yourself, and preserve all your legal rights.
If you slipped and were injured in a fall that you believe was someone else's
fault, our lawyers will be on your side to negotiate your case, on your behalf,
and help guide you through the maze of insurance company paperwork, opposing
lawyers, and red tape that lies between you and a fair settlement for your
injuries and medical bills.
